I sell paintings. These paintings are unique physical objects; there is only one of each of them.

On rare occasions I may sell very small batches of numbered giclee prints; no more than 10 at a time.

You contact me, either through my Instagram DMs or my email here, zelda@zeldathorn.com . From there, we can negotiate either the purchase of an existing painting or the commission for the creation of a painting.

I will want to have an actual conversation and relationship with you. These are objects that are important to me; I want to know that you value them and will care for them. And frankly, if you like my work, I might like you and will want to know you more; I like my clients to be my friends.

Paintings that are simple depictions of a photograph are usually priced at $1.50 to $2.00 per square inch. Works with less detail will be on the lower end of that scale, and more detail on the higher end.

Paintings that involve time devoted to composition and preparation, including sketches, mock ups, taking or finding specific reference photos, or other planning, are priced accordingly.

I will tell you the price when you inquire about a painting. Prices are non-negotiable, although I reserve the right to offer discounts or even to give a painting for free to the right person.* Purchase of a painting constitutes ownership of the painting as-is in fee simple. I am also willing to negotiate consignment agreements.

*Such “gift” will not constitute ownership in fee simple, but will rather be a right to possession for life with a mutually-agreed upon consignment agreement that allows the painting to be sold to a third party if we both agree, with you receiving half of the proceeds.

All works are, unless otherwise noted, made from photograph references taken by me.

When a work references the work of another creator, I do my best to provide proper attribution. When a work directly depicts the work of another creator, that creator is a co-author of the work and receives, to the best of my ability, half of my proceeds from any sale of the work.
